Delayed action: 99 police officers receive promotions

The officials had to wait for around 15 years before being promoted

SUKKUR: The Sukkur police’s departmental promotion committee (DPC) promoted on Thursday 99 police officials to higher ranks. The meeting of the DPC was chaired by Sukkur DIG Captain (retd) Feroze Shah, while the SSPs of Sukkur, Khairpur and Ghotki were in attendance.  The meeting promoted 47 assistant sub-inspectors to the post of sub-inspectors and 52 head constables to the posts of assistant sub-inspectors. The promoted officers belong to the Sukkur range - Sukkur, Khairpur and Ghotki, Sindh reserve police, crime branch, special branch and regional training centre, Khairpur. The officials had to wait for around 15 years before being promoted. Earlier, 69 sub-inspectors were promoted to the posts of inspectors and 272 inspectors throughout Sindh were promoted to the posts of deputy superintendents of police. An official, who was promoted to the post of ASI from head constable, talking on the condition of the anonymity, said he had to wait 14 years for this promotion. He credited the promotions to the DIG and Sindh IG Allah Dino Khawaja who ensured that recruitments in the department were made on merit.
