This was said by Provincial Minister for Forests, Wildlife and Fisheries Yawar Zaman while presiding over a high level departmental meeting in Bahawalpur on Wednesday.
The meeting was attended by Provincial Forest Secretary Jahanzaib Khan, Bahawalpur Commissioner Saqib Zafar, Assistant Commissioner Syed Waseem Hassan, Forest Conservator Faisal Haroon, District Forest Officer Wajid Hussain and other officers.
Provincial Forest Secretary Jahanzaib Khan told the meeting that the desilting process of 4,000 acre area in Lal Suhanra Lake was under way. He added five acre land had also been allocated to conduct research to protect and promote herbs and natural desert plants.
The meeting was briefed that tree plantation on an area of 1,212 acre was also underway while a road network of 37 Kilometers had been completed by spending funds of Rs37 million.
The meeting also reviewed the construction process of historic hut at Lal Suhanra Park. Provincial Minister Yaver Zaman directed the officials to accelerate the pace of tree plantation at Hasilpur Road along with taking special measures to protect breeds of black buck and chankara.
