Christians protest all over Pakistan

Hundreds of Christians took out rallies all over Pakistan to protest against the brutal murder of Shahbaz Bhatti.

DASKA: The hundreds of the Christians on Thursday took out agitational rallies in Sialkot, Daska, Sambrial, Pasrur, Chawinda, Badiana, Satrah and surrounding areas to protest the brutal assassination of Federal Minister for Minorities Shahbaz Bhatti in Islamabad.

The protesting Christians were holding agitational banners and placards and they also chanted anti- terrorism slogans.

In Sialkot, the Christians staged a peaceful agitational demonstration in Sialkot City's congested Allama Iqbal Chowk, during the light rainy weather, as a protest against the brutal murder of federal Minister for Minorities Shahbaz Bhatti in Islamabad.

Bishop Samuel Maseeh led the demonstration. The protesting Christians were holding agitational banners and placards. They chanted anti-terrorism slogans, demanding immediate arrest of the killers.

They also marched on various city roads in Sialkot and condemned this assassination, saying that the minorities were not safe and feeling insecure in Pakistan.

AN | 13 years ago | Reply Shahid Baloch! Baluchistan is among the most conservative provinces of Pakistan. War in terror is going on in FATA. You should be grateful that it is not extended to Baluchistan. As for terrorists in Punjab, PML-N has failed to curb terrorist activities in the province. They will surely suffer in elections next time. Secondly, we are with our Christian brothers. They don't need the support of separatists residing abroad like you. So keep your sympathy to yourself.

I would like to invite all Pakistani christian to contact us in order for us to mobilize a strong movement in US and Europe

Billoo Bhaya | 13 years ago | Reply Amazing thing is not many people are writing in to extend support to the Christian community in Pakistan. Shows their fear from the forces of darkness. In spite of this fear they want their children to be educated in Christian schools in Pakistan and their Universities abroad. I have never seen anyone going to Saudi Arabia, Libya, Iran, Iraq or Jordan for education of their children. Pakistanis are full of hypocrisy when it comes to religion. For that very reason they do not get support from the West when it comes to Kashmiri muslims and those in other countries. We did not see any Muslim nations sending planes to Tunisia to transfer thousands of stranded refugees from Libya, most of whom were from Egypt, Bangladesh and India. Zardari and his Government have done nothing to airlift Pakistanis stranded in Libya. Neither did bloody Egyptians who have transport planes to help their own people. Yes, when Zaardari wants to take hundreds of his supporters to Larkana on Benazir's anniversary they commandeer PIA's planes to do so without paying for it. Shame on all these Arabs and Muslims whose people are now being transferred on aircraft belonging to Europe and the Christian people. Shame also on Pakistanis who have failed the Christians ever since 1947. Just look at what kind of nation you have built, pretty ugly, uneducated and hostile to any liberal thinking.

I believe there are fewer attacks on non-Muslims than that on Muslims (by Muslims), they have been targeted individually and in their congregations... And I believe that our brothers are well aware of this fact that we (the silent) majority is not amongst these fanatic zealots... And, as far discrimination on the basis of religion is concerned, yes we should confess that we have been accomplice in all these atrocities...

Late Mr. Bhatti was a Great man who lived and died for what he believed in.
