Davis case: Court to make media reports part of hearing

LHC orders all reports appearing in the US media about Davis to be included in case records.

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday passed orders to make American media reports about Raymond Davis, an American facing double murder charges, a part of the court’s record in the case.

Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry gave the order while hearing a petition that requested the court to make the US government a party to the Raymond Davis case.

The chief justice ruled out the possibility of making the US government a party to the case unless the Pakistan government adopted a clear stance on the case.

However, the court ordered that all reports appearing in the US media about Davis should be included in case records.

In the last hearing, Davis insisted he had diplomatic immunity and refused to receive a copy of the charge-sheet submitted in the court against him.

On March 14, the Lahore High Court will decide on the issue of Davis’ immunity.

While general kayani needs to be called in the military court and for your desire to be fulfilled my friend you need a lot of guts in you to ask the military for that.

All the judges show their courage when it comes to working against politicians. Ask Iftikhar Choudhary why he does not call general kiyani who brokered the NRO deal visiting Dubai and other parts of the world. Why do these judges, quicking at taking sou moto, not call Hameed Gul and other Pakistani generals who proudly say that they violated constitution by making IJI and other political groups. Why does the judiciary not inquire into the wealth of generals, Nawaz group and other politicians. From Ramday to Choudhary all praise general Kiyani. Why did they not take action against the killings of people in Balochistan. Poltical workers are killed and the judges are sleeping. It is really encouraging to see that the judges are trying to recover the looted money but remembers the generals are the biggest plunderers. They are the real masters of the country
