Balochistan unrest: Government to uncover foreign hands

ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to uncover the involvement of foreign elements in creating chaos in Balochistan, a press release issued by the interior ministry stated on Tuesday.

According to the statement, the decision was taken in a meeting chaired by Interior Minister Rehman Malik. A joint investigation team headed by deputy Inspector General Police (IGP) and including officials of the Federal Investigation Agency and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) will investigate the matter along with the abduction of two judges and three lawyers.

The IGP and secretary home and tribal affairs have been asked to brief the chief minister of the province on the matter in person. According to the statement, it is mandatory for the local administration to conduct the postmortem of the unclaimed bullet riddled bodies found in the province while registration of FIRs should be made a permanent feature to re-address the grievances of the bereaved families.

The press release stated that “security zones are required to be established ... through corresponding deployment of law enforcement agencies in each security zone.” It added that peace committees at the level of police stations, comprising notables of the civil society, will also be established.

Farhad Baloch | 13 years ago | Reply The government of Balochistan should reveal the foreign punjabi hands involved in the illegal killings and disapperance of thousands of innocent balochis. The guilty punjabis should be brought to the book and given severe punishment. When i say severe punishment i mean SEVERE, as per Sharia, An eye for an eye. The number of balochis that have disappeared without a trace is in the thousands. The illegal occupation needs to be come to an end and an equal number of punjabis should be vaporised. Nothing short of complete withdrawal of punjabi forces will be acceptable and every punjabi terrorist needs to be caught and jailed.
