Nazreen Fazal is a 24-year-old Indian Muslim woman whose take on the process of arranged marriage will give you something to think about.

As a poet, Nazreen's Facebook page has a considerable fan following and her latest post is making rounds on social media for all the right reasons.

According to Buzzfeed, Nazreen got married last August and is now living in Saudi Arabia. She recently posted a picture with her husband that had a heartwarming caption to go with it, and it's definitely one desi men and women can relate to. Almost immediately, her post gained momentum and was shared over 1,000 times.

The post described the two-month journey that she and her husband had to take before finally tying the knot. The two had exchanged 80 emails which comprised absolutely no flirting and covered topics pertaining to their priorities in life and where they see themselves in a few years.

"What do you think about women working? What do you think abuse means? ( I actually asked that) When do you want to have children (if at all)?-- I bombarded him with question after question and he patiently answered each one of them," she wrote in the post accompanying her photograph.

Nazreen further explained why asking such questions was necessary before sealing the deal. "Ours is a funny culture, this desi one. We spend ages ordering off a menu in a restaurant (butter chicken and garlic naan in the end), but when it comes to selecting a partner FOR THE ENTIRE FRIKKIN' LIFE we expect a man and a woman to meet for a few hours (some times less than an hour) and finalise it then and there."

After all the emails, a bunch of skype calls and a meeting spanning over the course of two months, the pair felt they were the perfect match and decided to tie the knot.

Her marriage turned out to be successful because according to Nazreen, "Most of it is because we both fervently prayed that Allah blesses us with a spouse who is 'coolness to our eyes' but a part of it is also because we did our homework BEFORE we got married."

She urges all those currently in search of a partner to forget about the 'deadline' and the pressures of society. From her experience, it is vital for any couple to be on the same page about the big things in life including children, finance and career.

Facebook users flooded Nazreen's post with comments of support, thanking her for speaking up about the darker side of the "arranged marriage" culture. With the post getting a stamp of approval, it seems she spoke on behalf of most desi men and women who otherwise resort to silence over such matters.
