HARIPUR: A man committed suicide after shooting dead his wife and injuring his mother-in-law over a domestic dispute in Haripur, police said on Sunday. Asim, of Mohallah Swat Colony, told police that his sister, 25-year-old Soniya Bibi, had married to 28-year-old Raja Jamal, a few months ago. However, their relations had turned sour from the very outset and Soniya always complained of her husband’s quarrelsome attitude. On Saturday night, at around 11pm, Jamal and Soniya had again exchanged harsh words over some unknown domestic matter. Following the quarrel, Soniya called her mother and brother. She was still talking to them when Jamal got infuriated and shot at his wife and mother-in-law Rasheeda Bibi before putting the gun to his temple and pulling the trigger. While Jamal died on the spot, Soniya and Rasheeda were critically injured. They were rushed to the Women and Children Hospital where injured Soniya succumbed to her bullet injuries. Her mother was referred to the Ayub Teaching Hospital Abbottabad in a critical condition.
