Local Government: Rawalpindi mayor elected unopposed   

Polling for the final phase of local body elections in Punjab are scheduled to be held on December 22

ISLAMABAD:
Sardar Naseem of the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) has been elected unopposed as mayor of Rawalpindi. Naseem had been elected after no other candidate filed nomination papers against him. Polling for the final phase of local body elections in Punjab are scheduled to be held on December 22, for which candidates are submitting their nomination forms. Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan has started preparations for the final phase of local body elections in Punjab. District chairman elections in Chakwal and Narowal are also being conducted.
