MANSEHRA: A man alleged to have raped a minor boy was sent to jail on Saturday on judicial remand. Police quoted MN*, a resident of Mohalla Sirajia, as saying that his maternal nephew F*, 12, went to buy some groceries from a shop near the bus terminal on Friday morning.
When he was on way back home, a man, later identified as Q*, who was working as cleaner at a local transport company, dragged the boy inside the coach and raped him.
After the boy told people what happened, locals thrashed him and handed him over to the police. The city police registered a rape case after a medical examination of the victim confirmed that the boy had been assaulted. The suspect was produced before a judicial magistrate to obtain one day police remand, and on expiry of that, he was brought back to the same court, which has sent him to Mansehra District Jail on judicial remand.
