Day two: Pakistan in control of tour match against CA XI

Misbah's men accumulate 218-run lead with five wickets remaining and one day to go

Pakistan had accumulated a 218-run lead against CA XI when stumps were called on day two of the day-night affair on Friday.

The three-day match saw 25 wickets falling in two days after Pakistan were bowled out for 208 on day one courtesy Cameron Valent's four-for and CA XI were then asked to bat a few overs.

Courtesy Mohammad Amir's exceptional two overs and three wickets with the pink ball and Rahat Ali's one wicket, CA XI lost four wickets for just three runs before the end of first day.


Hosts started day two on the back-foot and managed to score 114 runs before being bundled out. Jake Winter was the top-scorer for them with 39 off 68 balls. Amir, Rahat and Wahab Riaz all took one wicket each.

In their second innings, Pakistan were again shoddy with the bat and lost wickets at regular intervals. Opener Azhar Ali (44 off 153  balls), however, remained unbeaten till the end of the day. He was accompanied by Sarfraz Ahmed (4 off 9 balls).

Mark Steketee bagged two wickets for CA XI while Cameron Wheatley and Ryan Lees accounted for one batsman each.

Pakistan take on Australia after this tour match in a three-match Test series starting from December 15. The first match will be a day-night affair just like the ongoing tour match.
