Distance education: Virtual University rector honoured

LAHORE: The Commonwealth of Learning (COL) conferred the title of honorary fellow on Virtual University Rector Dr Naveed A Malik at the 8th Pan-Commonwealth Forum, which concluded in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The title of COL Honorary Fellow recognises outstanding individual contributions to distance education in fields such as leadership and service, published works including courseware, lectures and presentations and mentorship, a Virtual University statement issued on Thursday said. The consideration is typically limited to citizens of the commonwealth countries and designations are for life. COL names Honorary Fellows during the Pan-Commonwealth Forums, but does not seek nominations for this award.
