KARACHI: A committee was formed on Tuesday to inspect the fire systems of different hotels, malls and superstores in District South on the directives of Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
According to District South deputy commissioner Muhammad Rafique, the committee comprises members of Civil Defence, assistant commissioners of different towns in the district and the chief fire officer of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation.
The committee will inspect how the mechanism of fire systems in different malls and hotels are working, said Rafique, adding that there are a total 70 big hotels in the district. After an inspection of seven such commercial buildings, the committee will submit its findings to the CM in two days, he said.
