ISLAMABAD: A sessions’ court on Monday approved bail of a man who had been arrested for allegedly raping a woman. Mehtab had been apprehended by the Bhara Kahu police last month and booked for rape, extortion and intimidation. However, he filed a bail plea in the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge (East) Shahrukh Arjumand. On Monday, the court granted Mehtab bail subject to filing surety bonds worth Rs100,000. Meanwhile, the same court sentenced a man to two months in jail and imposed a fine of Rs1,000 for carrying drugs. Abdul Aziz had been arrested by the Bhara Khau police with 120 grammes of hashish on September 22.
