Crackdown: Police impound 511 bikes, 16 cars 

Police said they had arrested two professional beggars in the last 24 hours

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad police on Monday said they had impounded over 500 bikes and a dozen cars for lack of proper documents at various spots in the capital during snap checking. As many as 40 suspects were also detained during checking. According to details, Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Islamabad Sajid Kiani had ordered police officers in the city to check vehicles being driven without proper documentation. Police said they had impounded 511 bikes as well as 16 cars. Around 40 suspects were also detained during the checking. Meanwhile, Islamabad Police said they had arrested two professional beggars in the last 24 hours in a crackdown against begging.  SSP-Operations Sajid Kiani has directed all SHOs to supervise police patrols in their respective areas, check duties themselves and brief their staff about effective checking techniques.
