For Aman, the event was inspired by “suspension and voids, just as they exist in the galaxy” and Battla’s collection too was inspired by the constellations. While mannequins flaunted her unique outfits, in shades of grays, salmon pink-browns — the hues of the Milky Way, each one was adorned with Aman’s pieces of art embedded with irregular-shaped stones. “Showcasing at the planetarium feels natural and relevant. Guests can view my work in a manifestation of the environment which inspired it,” said Aman. Visitors were pulled in to gaze up at the stars in the planetarium’s star dome theatre.
“There has never been anything like this,” said Lotus Client Management and Public Relation’s Asma Khan. “The concept, the execution and the collection are unique in every way,” she added. “The clothes have been pieced together with Aman’s jewels to create an outfit. It’s been exciting to see it all come together,” said Battla.
A diverse audience was in attendance at this collaborative event including artist Aliya Chinoy, restaurateur Rasikh Ismail of Café Koel, photographer Amean J, art collector Khurram Kasim, fashion designer Nida Azwer, Brands and External Communications Manager Unilever Pakistan Fareshteh Aslam, Jamal Baquar of Samba Bank and CEO of Dawood Capital Management Tara Uzra Dawood.
Kiran Fine Jewellery epitomizes the substance of a woman who wears jewellery to reflect the essence from within.
Aman maintains that her collections are an extension of herself and to this end the pieces are always conceptual and realised through the trends and symbols that define her contemporary ethos.
Aman’s emphasises on the dynamic with each collection echoing a metamorphosis or growth.
Aman chose an exclusive brand ambassador for her line with designer, Sonya Battla. Sonya Battla has been working together with the KFJ label since 2010 to create collaborative designs between the fashion inudstry and the jewellery industry in Pakistan.
Battla has been making prêt-a-porter and haute couture collections under her labels Sonya since 1996. Her design philosophy comes from her love for nature and focuses on creating fluid clothing that highlights a woman’s true beauty.
With both designers coinciding in concept and philosophy, it is no wonder that Sonya Battla and Kiran Aman are working together.
Kiran Fine Jewellery’s latest collection will be available at the KFJ flagship store from March 10 while Sonya Battla’s collection will also be available at her boutique, it added.
