Climate change: Pilot project to study agri data
The success of the pilot project would pave way for launching similar projects

The Punjab government will launch a pilot project for finding out the best ways and means to minimise the impact of climate change on agriculture sector. An amount of Rs99.96 million has been approved for the pilot project, an official of Punjab Planning and Development Department told APP on Sunday. Under the pilot project, modern techniques of rainwater management in cotton fields will be applied. He said that outcome of application of these modern techniques would enable experts to analyse their impact and compile data. The data will then be utilised for future planning, he added. The success of the pilot project would pave way for launching similar projects. The Punjab Provincial Development Working Party gave the go-ahead for the project in a meeting for current fiscal year.
