This was stated by Dera Ghazi Khan District Coordination Officer Nadeemur Rahman as he addressed a meeting of officers in the district on Wednesday.
The DCO said 709 projects related to revamping dilapidated school buildings, which were declared dangerous and lacked basic school facilities, were initiated.
He expressed his dissatisfaction over the unnecessary delay in the completion of projects. He ordered district officers to supervise the projects by ensuring their presence in the field. He also sought reports from district officers on the progress of ongoing projects. Rahman directed the officers to speed up the process of timely completion of projects.
On the occasion, the DCO was told that the construction of 144 schools out of 170 was declared dangerous in the report of the Annual Development Programme 2015-16, had been successfully completed with the total cost of Rs406 million.
