KARACHI: Mayor Wasim Akhtar visited Mardan House to meet Awami National Party (ANP) provincial chief Senator Shahi Syed on Monday. The mayor himself had contacted Shahi to meet the leader and, after internal discussion, the party decided to greet him at Mardan House, said ANP spokesperson Yousuf Buneri while speaking to The Express Tribune. Buneri said that Syed asked Akhtar to also focus on Pashtun dominated areas and work for the city with no discrimination, as former mayors of the city have neglected Pashtun dominated areas. Syed also said that the ANP demands more powers for the local body system and will support the mayor in all the legitimate projects, claimed Buneri. On the occasion, Syed also said that Sindh government and local body system should work side by side so that work at local level progresses.
