MUMBAI: According to Bollywood beauty Raveena Tandon, every human being goes through a phase in his or her life where they feel low and celebrities experience the same pains as well.

Speaking at the launch of psychiatrist Anjani Chabria’s book Death Is Not The Answer on Thursday, Tandon said, “As celebrities, we should be as honest as normal human beings and confess that everyone faces pain. It is not that just because we are celebrities, we don’t feel anything.”

The Akhiyo Se Goli Maare star  added, “Even we go through phases of depression in our lives and feel pain as others do. It just depends on how an individual faces that difficult time. Some people come out of it easily while others are unable to deal with it and give up. But everybody faces it, nonetheless.”

As the book talks about suicide, Tandon went on to share her concern over the growing suicide cases among women in India. “In every 10 suicide cases, six of them are of housewives and women. This is a cause of concern. It’s a clinical issue and should be treated seriously,” she said. “Youngsters commit suicide over small issues like getting scolded by their parents or if they scored low marks. It is a form of depression which people are unable to understand normally,” she added.
