ISLAMABAD: A consensus has been reached among the Regional Admission Committee members of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) on Thursday to follow the merit policy and legal requirements in the wake of the decision of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

The meeting was held at the Ministry of National Health Services Regulation and Coordination (NHSRC).

Furthermore, the admission process in medical and dental colleges in Islamabad was discussed in the context of the Admission Regulation 2016 rules.

Similarly, the committee was apprised of the admission process in the Federal Medical and Dental College as well as its affiliated private medical colleges.

Moreover, affiliated varsities of public-private medical and dental colleges of ICT will make merit lists, and only students be registered by the PMDC who fulfil the set criteria will be registered by PMDC.

It was agreed upon that admission committee members will work together with all stakeholders to implement the admissions regulations.

The committee said that the NHSRC ministry is fully supportive of merit in all aspects, including admissions in private medical colleges, while ensuring all legal requirements.
