Recovery: Sehwag, Broad fit to play

BANGALORE: Virender Sehwag will play today despite suffering a bruised rib in the lead up to the Group B match. Sehwag suffered an injury scare on Friday when he was struck on the left side of his ribs in the nets and collapsed to the ground. However, M S Dhoni said only pace-bowler Ashish Nehra was not fully fit.

“Nehra will bowl with 80 per cent intensity in the nets today. Apart from that everyone is available for selection.”

Meanwhile, England’s in-form opening bowler Stuart Broad skipped practice due to an upset stomach but is expected to recover in time for the match, said Strauss. “Broad is struggling with a bit of a tummy upset today but he hopefully should be fully fit for tomorrow’s crucial match against India.”
