Healthy lifestyles: Acting NA speaker inaugurates gym for women MPs

The women parliamentarians thanked Abbasi on the establishment of the gym

It is imperative to incorporate regular exercise into the hectic daily schedules of parliamentarians to avoid diseases, said National Assembly Acting Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi.

He was speaking on Thursday at the inauguration of a gym for women parliamentarians at Parliament lodges, said a press release.

Minister for State of Information and Broadcasting, Maryum Aurangzeb, women parliamentarians, and senior officers of the National Assembly and CDA were also present at the inauguration.

Abbasi lauded the performance of women parliamentarians and said they were playing a crucial role in the functioning of parliament.

The acting speaker said that due to security reasons and other engagements, parliamentarians could not regularly indulge in physical activities.

He said that the gym would be available for women MPs and the female relatives of all parliamentarians.

The women parliamentarians thanked Abbasi on the establishment of the gym.
