Book launch: ‘Faiz Ahmed Faiz in Beirut’

The book is written by Tasleem Elahi Zulfi and focuses on the eminent poet’s activities in Beirut.

ISLAMABAD: “Faiz Ahmed Faiz in Beirut”, a book detailing the four years of the eminent poet’s stay in the capital city of Lebanon has been published by Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL).

The book is written by Tasleem Elahi Zulfi and focuses on the eminent poet’s activities in Beirut during his stay there as an expatriate. The book is based on the author’s memoirs of his meetings with Faiz during his asylum.

Fakhar Zaman, Chairperson of PAL, during a briefing about the book on Friday, said, “[The book] tries to bring forth new aspects of Faiz’s life.”

“PAL plans to publish more books on Faiz in 2011. An international conference has also been planned for which primary arrangements have already been made,” he added.
