Food safety: Awareness key to overcoming food hazards: experts

Awareness should be created for food safety and to overcome food hazards in a bid to ensure healthy environment.
This was said by health experts during a two-day training workshop on culinary arts and formal serving techniques that ended on Sunday. The event was held at the Institute of Home Sciences, University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.
On the occasion, participants were also informed about food hazards, physical and chemical hazards, sanitation techniques, safety measures and personal hygiene.
Faculty of Food, Nutrition and Food Sciences Dean Professor Masood Sadiq Butt said, “If we ensure intake of healthy food and lifestyle, the issue of increasing ailment and malnutrition can be addressed effectively.”
He said establishment of Punjab Food Authority was a hallmark step which was producing tangible results in providing hygienic food to the people.
