Found guilty: Two CTD officials dismissed

KARACHI: Two inspectors of the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of the Sindh police were dismissed on Friday from service after they were found involved in criminal activities. CTD SHO inspector Malik Asif Usman and inspector Zaheer Ahmed of CTD operations were accused of being involved in criminal activities, including receiving bribes and extortion from citizens. Usman had been involved in getting bribes after arresting a citizen, Badar bin Shuja, in a fake case and had also been involved in extortion activities. Meanwhile, inspector Zaheer Ahmed had been found guilty of taking Rs100,000 after arresting a citizen, Manzar, in a fake case. CTD officials said that the decision to dismiss the CTD officials was taken after they were found guilty in an inquiry against them.
