LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visited the residence of late party veteran Jahangir Badar on Tuesday to condole with the bereaved family and offer prayers for the departed soul.

Paying his respects to one of the PPP’s most loyal leaders, Bilawal said Badar was a lover of democracy and faced many hardships.

He termed the demise of the senior party leader a ‘national loss’, particularly for the PPP.

Bilawal said the party would always remember his services and struggle for the democracy in Pakistan. His sisters, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari, accompanied him as well. Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani also visited Badar’s residence and offered Fateha for the departed soul. Later, speaking to the media, Raza said PPP always accepted courts’ decisions even in the judicial murder of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto; the party never raised voice against courts in the country.

“All institutes, including the parliament, should be allowed to work independently,” he said.
