Where ocean meets the sky: Hadiqa Kiani and Sajjad Ali collaborate for the first time

KARACHI: The two most revered sensations in Pakistan's music scene Sajjad Ali and Hadiqa Kiani have been making waves with their stunning vocals for over decades now. Recently they collaborated on a song for the first and the result is beyond stellar. The song titled Man Mar Jaye Na has been composed by Ali’s brother and renowned musician Waqar Ali, produced by Tariq Mujeeb, and written by Sabbir Zafar. The track is an OST of the drama named Man mar Jayen and is nothing short of an emotional roller coaster, with powerful lyrics.

The vocal powerhouse, Kiani’s knack for experimenting has always made her videos a treat to watch. From Manne Di Mauj to Wo Kaun Hai, from Boohe Bariyan to Dupatta and from Inteha-e-Shauq to Rung and Jaanan, she has given more hits than most of our A-listers.

Ali recently launched Sajjad Ali’s Masterclass, a series of online tutorials for upcoming singers and musicians. What has started with a vocal training lesson will eventually cover audio production, songwriting, mixing and many more aspects of music training at large.

Talking to The Express Tribune, Ali shared his reason to opt for slow songs. “It is not that I have stopped releasing pop songs, but my slow and melodious tracks like Nakhun have always resonated well with the audience,” he said. “Just look at Paniyon Mein, Chal Rein De, Koi Nahi and Har Zulm — all of these songs became major hits.”

It has indeed taken a long while for Kiani and Ali to work together and we are glad that it happened.

Guess we'll have to wait for the audience to rate the song and give its verdict.
