President leads condemnations of cross-LoC aggression

ISLAMABAD: Politicians, businessmen and social leaders on Monday vehemently condemned the unprovoked firing by Indian forces along the Line of Control (LoC) in which seven Pakistani soldiers were martyred.

President Mamnoon Hussain expressed profound grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of soldiers. Strongly condemning the continuous truce violations at the Line of Control by Indian security forces, the president paid tributes to the martyred soldiers and said “their sacrifices would not go in vain”.

The president commiserated with the bereaved families and prayed for salvation of the departed souls.

“India was trying to divert the world attention from its on-going atrocities in Occupied Kashmir where it had been curbing the just struggle of innocent Kashmiri men, women and children.”

The president said Pakistan was fully capable of defending its soil against any aggression and its armed forces were always prepared to foil the nefarious designs of enemy.



AJK PM Raja Farooq Haider Khan in a statement maintained that India is attempting to divert the world’s attention away from atrocities committed by its forces in held Kashmir.

He paid tributes to seven soldiers who embraced martyrdom and said Indian brutalities would not let down the courage of Kashmiris in their struggle for freedom

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari condemned the Indian aggression and unprovoked shelling from across the Line of Control (LoC).

According to a statement, the PPP chairman said the Modi government is blood-thirsty and has continued violations at the LoC and Working Boundary.

“Modi government should bear in mind that the people of Pakistan in unity with the armed forces of the country would foil all its nefarious schemes and designs against Pakistan,” the statement quoted the PPP Chairman as saying.

He expressed his solidarity with the bereaved families of the martyrs of the Pakistan Army and said the PPP as well as the whole nation is proud of these martyrs.

Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal flayed the Indian aggression, saying that such an act amounted to serious violation of the LoC and was tantamount to attacking the integrity and security of Pakistan.

Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said Narendra Modi’s government had gone berserk over the initiation of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and was bent upon halting it.

Spokesman for the Punjab government Zaeem Hussain Qadri, MPA, decrying Indian aggression along the LoC, said such an act was a serious violation of the international laws.

“Indian forces violated the internationally-recognised Line of Control (LoC) and resorted to firing, killing seven Pakistan soldiers,” he added.

Jamaat-e-Islami central leader Liaquat Baloch said that after failure in Occupied Kashmir, New Delhi was using unethical and illegal methods to pressure Pakistan to withdraw its moral support to Kashmiris.

He criticised Indian government for committing the worst kind of human rights abuses in the held valley and called for an immediate cessation to Indian atrocities.

Opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Mehmood-ur-Rashid also condemned the aggression, and said all political leadership was united against Indian illegal acts and atrocities.

Lawmakers Faiza Malik, Majid Zahoor, Yasin Sohail, Mian Naseer and Uzam Bokhari said India would be given a befitting response if it dared to wage a war against Pakistan.

They expressed sympathies with the families of the martyred army soldiers and prayed for the departed souls.
