150th anniversary: Lawyers beat judges in cricket match

The team elected to bat and scored 113 runs in 15 overs with six wickets down

BAHAWALPUR: A cricket match was played between the district judiciary and the district bar association as part of the sesquicentennial celebrations of the Lahore High Court.

The winner of the match was district bar association and the match was played at Dring stadium, Bahawalpur while, District and Session Judge Rehan Bashir was the chief guest on the occasion. The captain of the team of District Judiciary was Syed Jahangir Ali Shah, whereas the skipper for District Bar Association’s team was Advocate Mazhar Farid.

Rehan performed the toss ceremony which was won by district judiciary. The team elected to bat and scored 113 runs in 15 overs with six wickets down.

District bar association’s cricket team reached the target in the last over with seven wickets down. The top scorer from the team of district judiciary was Senior Civil Judge Alim Sher who scored 28 runs by playing 10 balls and he was declared best batsman of the match.
