“The federal government has removed Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan ... any change is made for some good,” he remarked, while talking to the media on Thursday in Hyderabad where he appeared before a court in a 1994 riot case.
The PSP’s chief, Mustafa Kamal, and the former governor exchanged acrimonious allegations last month. Kamal accused Khan of corruption and his continuous loyalty to Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London’s leader, Altaf Hussain. Meanwhile, Khan derided the former Karachi mayor for failing to fulfil his mayoral responsibilities.
“The governor represents the federation and only the federal government can tell why they decided to remove him now,” Kaimkhani replied to a question asking for his analysis over the replacement. “When the time comes, we will tell who can be given the credit for removing him [Khan].”
Earlier, Kaimkhani had appeared in the district and sessions court, where he was informed that he will be indicted in the 1994 riot case registered at the Cantt police station on the next hearing on November 24.
