SUKKUR:
The Sindh High Court (SHC) ordered on Tuesday the transfer of 47 cases of high-profile prisoners from Sukkur to the Anti-Terrorism Courts in Karachi.

According to reports, the SHC has ordered the authorities concerned to shift the cases of 47 high-profile suspected terrorists from ATCs Sukkur and Khairpur to Karachi for further proceedings. After the shifting of 47 high-profile terrorists from Karachi Central Jail to Sukkur Central Prison, the cases were also shifted to ATCs in Sukkur and Khairpur.


Of the 47 cases, 35 are under trial at the ATC, Sukkur and 12 at the ATC, Khairpur. There are currently 57 high-profile prisoners incarcerated at the Sukkur Central Prision, of which 15 belong to Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, eight from the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, 17 from Sipah-e-Sahaba, 12 from the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, two gangsters from Lyari, two belonging to Jundullah and one from Jaish-e-Mohammad.

Of these 57 high-profile terrorists, the cases of 47 will be shifted to ATC-6 and 7 in Karachi. In this regard notices have been received by the concerned authorities.
