China, Pakistan ink MoU to tackle corruption

The MoU showed the resolve of both the governments to work in a fair, impartial and corruption free environment

BEIJING: Pakistan and China signed a MoU for cooperating on matters related to corruption. NAB Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry and the Chinese Minister of Supervision and Inspection Huang Shuxian signed the MoU in Beijing on Tuesday. The MoU was signed after a bilateral meeting between the two dignitaries.

Trip to Beijing: NAB chief to sign MoU with China

The chairman, who is on an official visit to China, said that signing of the MoU between Pakistan and China is especially significant in the backdrop of increasing economic and trade cooperation between Pakistan and China. He added that the MoU showed the resolve of both the governments to work in a fair, impartial and corruption free environment in order to share their experiences to eradicate corruption. The NAB chief said China is Pakistan’s true friend and long-standing ties between the two nations have been mutually supportive.

The Pakistani delegation was led by Chairman NAB and the Chinese delegation was led by the Secretary General of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection Xiaochao Yang and Vice minister for Supervision Liu Jianchao.

The Chinese leaders termed the MoU a huge step forward and a new dimension in the existing brotherly relations between the two countries. They also appreciated the excellent progress made by NAB under the dynamic leadership of Qamar Zaman Chaudhry.
