BAHAWALPUR: Four new judges of the Lahore High Court were administered oaths of service after their confirmation on Saturday in Bahawalpur. LHC Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah administered the oaths to Justice Khalid Mehmood Malik, Justice Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmad, Justice Masood Abid Naqvi and Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal. A simple but impressive ceremony was held at the main hall of LHC’s Bahawalpur bench building, where Registrar Syed Khurshid Anwar Rizvi conducted the proceedings. LHC’s Senior Puisne Judge Justice Shahid Hameed Dar as well as other judges, federal and provincial law officers, senior lawyers and families and friends of the judges also attended the event.Earlier, Justice Mansoor was accorded a warm welcome on his arrival in Bahawalpur. He was accompanied by Justice Ameer Bhatti and Justice Attir Mehmood. A smartly turned out contingent of police presented the guard of honour to the senior judge, who also planted a citrus plant in the court’s lawn.
