KARACHI:
Law enforcement agencies (LEAs) claimed on Wednesday to have recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the city’s District West. Police officials said that arms and ammunition was seized on information provided by a suspect, a suspected gangster named Asadullah, who is in police custody. The recovery was made during a raid at the gangsters’ hideout in Pak Colony area. While holding a press conference, West zone police chief DIG Zulfiqar Larik told the media that the recovered weapons were going to be used by gangs. The recovered arms and ammunition include 70 awan shells, 11 RPG rockets, five light machineguns, three pistols, one 7mm rifle, two repeaters, one rocket launcher, seven rifles, 21 sub machineguns, one G3 rifle, one M-16 rifle and more than 50,000 rounds of ammunition.
