Amassing arms: PTI trying to undermine capital’s peace: Muqam
'K-P cabinet arrived in the federal capital to destabilise the government and peaceful atmosphere' says Muqam
PESHAWAR:
Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf (PTI) is using government resources to undermine peace in the federal capital, advisor to the PM Ameer Muqam told The Express Tribune on Sunday.
Accusing PTI of commandeering resources provided to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, he said that PTI was amassing arms and ammunition with an ulterior motive.
The PML-N leader stated that members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet had arrived in the federal capital to destabilise the government and peaceful atmosphere there.
“The arms, ammunition and tear-gas guns seized from the vehicle of a cabinet member belonged to the provincial police … This clearly suggests [PTI’s] ulterior motive,” Muqam told The Express Tribune, adding that KP government’s resources were being utilised to shut down hospitals, schools and government offices in the federal capital.
The federal government, he said, was following a high court decision and the government would avert a confrontation at any cost, adding PTI wanted to paralyse the federal capital but the federal government will not let them [PTI] do it.
Muqam wondered what message PTI wanted to convey to the world. “Do they think a few people can block the federal capital? Can they face (the ire of) 200 million people?” Maqam said.
Accusing PTI of misusing its activists for political gains, he said that people had rejected PTI’s ‘dharna politics’. Muqam announced staging protest demonstrations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
“I will be leading protests in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa … we plan to hold a demonstration today [Monday],” Ameer Muqam said.
