Defaulters: HESCO cuts off connections  

These consumers defaulted payment of their current bills

HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) cut off electric supply to 385 villages, 18,600 domestic and 4,900 commercial consumers and 169 tube-wells during the ongoing month of October in nine districts. These consumers defaulted payment of their current bills and arrears amounting to Rs130 million, Rs86 million, Rs180 million and Rs650 million, respectively, said a Hesco official. The company claims arrears of Rs71.26 billion, including Rs37.38 billion on private consumers, Rs32 billion on Sindh government and Rs1.79 billion on the federal government.
