LAHORE: Young doctors shut the Out Patient Department (OPD) at Mayo Hospital on Thursday to protest the cancellation of postgraduate residency of Young Doctors Association (YDA) President, Shaheryar Khan Niazi and his fellow doctors. “Today, we boycotted OPD due to malpractices of the health department officials,” said YDA office-bearer Dr Asim Khan while talking to The Express Tribune. Some other doctors manhandled a patient recently and they were punishing Dr Shaheryar for their act, he said, adding they have not decided as yet whether they will continue their strike tomorrow or not.  According to the health department spokesperson, young doctors are maligning the medical profession and the health department has a strict policy in this regard.
