ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad police have confirmed the arrest of another woman who was allegedly looting motorists by posing as a hitchhiker.

Police arrested Shazia, a resident of Peshawar, who confessed to asking motorists for a lift, offering them juice laced with a narcotic substance, and robbing them when they passed.

The suspect has been booked in Islamabad on at least two previous occasions. The Special Investigation Unit also recovered jewellery from the accused.

The police had arrested another woman on similar charges on October 15.

Police said that on June 3, the suspect and her accomplice Naziran Bibi asked a woman for a lift from Polyclinic and snatched gold ornaments from her near Zero Point. The Aabpara police registered a robbery case and arrested the suspect.

Naziran Bibi is currently in jail in Sahiwal and has also been charged in a separate case by the Vehari police.
