Spain's Martin Berasategui bags top spot in Travellers' Choice Restaurants 2016

Spain has grabbed the top spot in boasting the best restaurant in the world.

Travel reviews company, TripAdvisor, just revealed its Travellers' Choice Restaurants winners for 2016, with Martin Berasategui on top of the list of fine-dining restaurants.

Here are the top 10 restaurants as voted by TripAdvisor users:

1. Martin Berasategui, Spain

Named after its head chef, the fine-dining restaurant is located in Lasarte, just outside of San Sebastian in Spain. The three-Michelin-starred restaurant is winning the title for the second year in row for its modern Spanish cuisine.

Martin Berasategui serves dishes such as red mullet with edible scale crystals; fennel with saffron and liquid baby squid bonbon; and young pigeon that's charcoal roasted at a low temperature with potato and truffle bites and forgotten vegetables.

2. Maison Lameloise, France

The three Michelin-starred restaurant is located in Chagny, France. The products, the season and the chef’s creativity are the wellsprings of a menu that is updated over time, states the official site.
