SHABQADAR: Security forces arrested two suspected militants and seized a huge ammunition cache during a search operation in Bajaur Agency on Saturday.

According to officials, the suspects, who were allegedly involved in attacks on security personnel, were apprehended in the Banda area of Salarzai and have been moved to an undisclosed location for interrorgation.

The officials also confirmed they recovered a huge cache of ammunition, which included hand grenades, a large quantity of explosives, different calibre rounds, two improvised explosive devices, one suicide jacket and rocket-propelled grenades.

Although the bordering areas of Bajaur Agency were cleared in military operations held in 2008, 2011 and 2012, sporadic incidents of violence, such as IED attacks on security forces, continue to occur in the area.
