MUMBAI: Tensions between India and Pakistan have taken an ugly turn, following which, a debate has raged on whether Pakistani actors should be banned from working in India. Actor Kalki Koechlin, who has been busy shooting for her films, has kept mum all this while. But when asked about her opinion on the issue recently, Koechlin shared she doesn’t want to add fuel to the fire.

“I don’t want to add fuel to the fire because this thing has been going on for a long time. I personally think that we live in an international world and we have Indians living all over the world. If we asked all those NRIs to come back to India, then we would have nowhere to put them,” Koechlin said.

“So, similarly, if there are guests from other countries living in our country, myself included, who is of French origin but born and bought up in India, where do I belong? If I don’t belong in this country, then I don’t know where I belong. So, I think it’s very important to understand that,” she added.

Meanwhile, the actor, who is also associated with online home decor magazine Beautifulhomes.com, revealed she loves Sussanne Khan’s house. “I think Sussanne Khan’s taste is amazing! She has a natural eye for things. She has these little details like garden norms and fairies which I really find quirky and nice.”

Talking about her association with the magazine, Koechlin mentioned, “This is my first association with Beautifulhomes and I just bought a beautiful home for myself this year. For the first time, I have a house of my own and it’s very exciting, of course.”

The actor is currently shooting for director Rakhi Shandilya’s upcoming film, Ribbon.
