KARACHI/SUKKUR: Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said that he has constituted a special team to reinvestigate the October 18, 2007, Karsaz incident, in which more than 180 people, who had gathered to receive Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Benazir Bhutto, were killed.

Talking to the media at the 'Memorial of Martyrs' at Karsaz on Tuesday, the CM said he believes that investigation into the Karsaz incident was not done properly. "This delay is because of the conspiracy under which the evidence of the incident was removed instantly," he said, adding that he will get the investigations done again and PPP chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has also issued instructions for the purpose.

The CM claimed that the party has given compensation to the families of the victims who died in the incident nine years ago, while those who have been left will be also compensated. He said that Bilawal has launched his political struggle from the rally that was held on October 16 in Karachi. The response of the people of the city was unprecedented, said the CM. "I am thankful to the people who welcomed the PPP chairman and the party," he said, assuring the citizens of Karachi that he will be serving them with his heart and soul.

Bilawal visits Garhi Khuda Bux

Meanwhile, Bilawal visited Garhi Khuda Bux on Tuesday and offered Fateha at the graves of 20 unidentified party workers who lost their lives nine years ago in the Karsaz tragedy.

The PPP chairperson was accompanied by the chief minister and MNA Faryal Talpur among others during his visit to Garhi Khuda Bux. He also visited the graves of his mother Benazir Bhutto and grandfather Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto among others. He laid floral wreaths and offer Fateha for party leaders before leaving for Naudero House.

On his arrival at the mausoleum in Garhi Khuda Bux, Bilawal met protesting students of the Aseefa Dental College, Larkana, who were demanding registration of their college by the Pakistan Medical and Dental College. Bilawal assured the protesting students that he will take up the matter with the relevant authorities and solve their problems.
