The country’s leading software association, Pakistan Software House Association (P@SHA), announced winners of its 13th annual ICT awards in an event held in Karachi.
The awards were distributed among 17 product categories and 15 local categories, including Communications, E-Learning and social media.
“The idea behind organising the P@SHA ICT Awards 2016 every year is to celebrate homegrown Pakistani innovators” said Jehan Ara, President of P@SHA. “The Pakistan IT industry has been growing steadily over the years, and it is essential for us to tell the world that Pakistan is a country where young innovators transform their ideas and dreams into products that have been solving business and community problems.”
P@SHA started the application process for the awards in July inviting candidates from all over Pakistan. The evaluation process was held in three major cities where applicants were asked to present their product to a panel of industry experts who decided the final list of winners and runner ups.
“The goal of P@SHA is to provide software and IT service companies with a collaborative platform where they can come together as a force to network, to brainstorm and to come up with solutions collectively” said Chairman P@SHA Naseer Akhtar.
P@SHA aims to provide international exposure to local companies and as such the winners from its product category will get a chance to showcase their product on an international platform and compete against 17 countries at this year’s APICTA (Asia Pacific ICT Alliance) Awards held in Taiwan this December.
