‘Govt wants to crush Hazara movement’

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Science & Technology Azam Khan Swati has said the provincial government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa has deliberately conducted operation in Kala Dhaka to crush the Hazara movement.

Speaking at a press conference here on Sunday along with JUI leader Maulana Ghafoor Haideri, he said there has not been any terrorist activity in Kala Dhaka but the provincial government has announced plans to launch an operation in the area to crush the strength of the Hazara movement. He pointed out that the federal government has not been on board as regards the operation in Kala Dhaka.

It was only the Khyber- Pakhtunkhwa provincial government that has called FC and police to eliminate the so-called miscreants from the area, he alleged. The federal minister said that he would consult Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani over the issue to address his concerns regarding the provincial government decision.

Maulana Ghafoor Haideri said that peace couldn’t be restored in the region till the US stayed on there, adding that the government has been carrying out military operation in Waziristan at the behest of the US.

He urged the Supreme Court to take suo moto notice on the issue of Kala Dhaka. Meanwhile, Khyber- Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain urged the leaders of Hazara Action Committee to adopt a constitutional method for the creation of a new province. Addressing a public meeting at Jalozai on Charat Road in Nowsehra district, he said the provincial government believes in dialogue and reiterated the government’s stance that it was ready to hold talks with the elders of the Hazara action committee for peaceful resolution of the problem.

All genuine demands of the people of Hazara would be addressed and their share in the next Annual Development Programme (ADP) would be enhanced to remove the sense of deprivation among them, he promised. The minister said: “The people of Hazara are our brethren and we will take steps to address their concerns and their suggestions will be considered.” He said peaceful protest is the democratic right of the people. However, the government would not allow anyone to take the law into their hands and disrupt the peace of Hazara.

Chanzeb | 13 years ago | Reply One should not referred back to a particular event of the history which suits their cause and that too without property reading the history its criminal. In history people had been migrating and land scape or boundaries of the countries kept on changing. We all Pakistanis should strictly follow the guideline of our founding father and should avoid saying any thing which detrimental to national unity and integrity. We should not involve our self in petting affairs and thing of making this great country a well developed country where all the people belonging to any religion or cast can live peacefully for which we got this homeland. As far Hazara Province Movement is concerned it is genuine political movement without any issue of cast because after hidco the second most spoken language in Hazara is Pushto and Hazara is full of all the subcasts of Pathans and Hazarewals have accepted the largest number of Afghan Refugees. Like Pakhtoonkhwa this movement indigenous movement and exactly as per the aspiration of the people of the areas who do not want a separate country they want a separate province and when national leadership will understand that this movement has not dangerous to national unity neither it is going to affect any other national issue they will decide. So please do give reference of history neither mention any thing about migration of any particulate group of people because every one has come from some where the only difference is of time in the history and the record available.now who so ever has born here is Pakistani we should first think of Pakistan than the name of any province and number of provinces but more provinces will certainly ease the job.

ahmad | 13 years ago | Reply of cours hazaras are right beacouse they have given murtyrd mor then pashtun. pashtun's place are in afghanistan. and they should not say to hazara these thing. hazara was there befor pashtuns people, every one know this, and but those who are thinking about there self only, they will say some thing that is it or wrong they can't be more then hazara people if the govarnment of pakistan give right to hazara people i am sure that pakistan won't be in badness

Its pashtoon who migrated from different parts of Afganistan in diff centuries and time. ANP claims that the got their name after 109 years (1901) when it was changed by English Sarkar, this is the time when in 1901 Hazara was joined to NWFP and it was never part of NWFP before that, so how could this be part of NASWARKHAH? ANP wants their old name but not their old area. reason because they don't want to loose all the royalty and resources. NASWARKHAH is flourishing on our resources, they have nothing in this province. Osama Binladen and the pakistan government used pashtuns to free palestine it seems to me everybodies happy with punjabi names or sindhi names but when it comes to pashtuns you seem to be against it why is that why the hinkos the hazaras are in higher seats in the airports in the army police force in pashtun areas while our children have the donkey works, why do we have to speak hinko punjabis the siekhs hindu language while we have our own history three thousand years old, all these hazaras people should go back where they come frome, they are living on our land and they want to devide our land, these are the enemy within pashtuns

HAZARA DIVISION has 45% of total area of Soba KHYBER. HAZARA DIVISION is the 80% GDP provider for the SOBA KHYBER. HAZARA DIVISION has the only larger Industrial Estate in Soba Khyber. HAZARA DIVISION has the WORLD's LARGEST SOIL DAM (MATTI ka DAM). HAZARA DIVISION is producing 65% of ELECTRICITY used in the country. HAZARA DIVISION HAZARA DIVISION HAZARA DIVISION has the right to demand, as some smaller parts like GILGIT BULTISTAN become a province in no time, and the party of "ANP", what should i say about it, everyone knows whose the boss of it, and whose ideas are behind this, and at the last but not least i think PEOPLE of HAZARAs are right in demanding the Province or either the original name, NWFP , as this name has no linguistical problems to any of the tribes residing at SOBA NWFP. badar minhas | 13 years ago | Reply nazar bro, we all are one, infact all humanity is one; so if some one asks for just a province then its not bad infact management becomes easy; i even say that there must be more provinces in punjab and in balochistan and sindh; but power holders there like to rule big lands instead of ruling small lands with good governance. I strongly condemn your views about pakhtun khawa; you must talk about Islam khawa and about muslims be united instead of just doing demarcation on the basis of language and tribes; remember we are one as muslim not as pashto speakers or on the basis of land; whole universe is for those who obey the one who is creator of the universe. We need to think broad as a muslim.

nazarrabi | 13 years ago | Reply I just dont understand how come these hazaras are against pakhtun khwa name but not north west frontier, why these people the hazaras, the hinko speakers got high seats and high jobs on pashtun land although these people are against pashto culture they love the punjabis siekhs culture so much why dont they go back to india because up to every corner of pakhtun khwa is pakhtun land these people came into out land and now they are against our mother language
