QUETTA: A 20-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide at her home in the Rindabad area of Sabzal Road in Quetta on Thursday.

The family brought her body to the Bolan Medical Complex. While recording a statement to the police, the family said that they found the 20-year-old hanging from a ceiling fan in her room.

Rape survivor commits suicide in Chitral

The sources in the hospital also confirmed that the 20-year-old had committed suicide after conducting an autopsy. However, the cause of the suicide could not be determined.

The police said that although the family had testified that the girl had committed suicide they are investigating the incident.

In August, a student, who was raped at a government school in Laspur, Chitral reportedly committed suicide. The body of the deceased was shifted to Booni for an autopsy.

Woman commits suicide in Abbottabad

In December 2015, the girl was returning home from school when Deedar, a Class-IV employee at the school, raped her. The girl registered an FIR against the employee and the case is pending in court.
