Three MQM leaders, including former MPA, join PSP

Mustafa Kamal announces inclusion of Shakir Ali, Saleem Tajik and Naik Muhammad into his party

Three Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders, including a former member Sindh Assembly entered into the folds of Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) on Thursday.

PSP leader Syed Mustafa Kamal announced the inclusion of ex-MPA Shakir Ali, Saleem Tajik and Naik Muhammad into his six-month-old party during a press conference at Pakistan House – the party headquarters in Karachi.



“We have opened our party offices in major cities of all four provinces… Our party has now penetrated into every part of the country… We have also opened our offices in the Middle East, UK, USA, Australia and Canada,” Kamal said as he addressed media, claiming the PSP was the only party in the country’s 70-year-history “which became the heartthrob of the people within a matter of just six months”.

Reiterating allegations against MQM founder Altaf Hussain, the former Karachi mayor asked why he shouldn’t call Altaf an “alcoholic” and “RAW agent” if the ‘facts’ were not otherwise.



Kamal took the MQM to task for claiming that only criminals were joining his party. “Why do the MQM workers who join us, instantly become criminals,” he questioned.

He, however, invited MQM-Pakistan leader Dr Farooq Sattar to join the PSP, suggesting it was the ‘right place’ for him. “We will welcome Farooq Sattar with open arms,” he said.
