RAWALPINDI: A man was shot dead by five men outside his house near Eidgah on Sunday in a revenge killing, police said.

Usman Sheikh’s brother, filed a complaint at the Banni Police Station stating that Noman, Abdul Manan, Muhammad Usman, Shafique, and another unidentified man had intercepted Usman as he came out of his house and shot him dead.

A police official said that the complaint had claimed that the assailants told Usman that they would avenge the murder of their relative Kamran Aziz, who was killed in 2010 in the limits of Pirwadhai police station, before opening indiscriminate fire on Usman.

The officer said Usman was married around a month ago after he had completed his sentence in a murder case.

The police have registered a murder case and have started investigations.

According to available information, the driver of the tractor fled the scene after the incident.
