Busted: Six alleged gangsters arrested by police

RAWALPINDI: At least six gangsters involved in burglaries, lifting vehicles and a murder in Rawalpindi have been apprehended, police said on Saturday.

SSP Operations Irfan Tariq and DSP Raja Taifoor told a news briefing at Sadiqabad Police Station on Saturday that the gangsters had allegedly also killed a citizen.

The officials said that they had recovered around Rs40,000 in cash, weapons, five motorcycles, and jewellery among other valuables from their possession.

Talking to The Express Tribune, the officials said that the suspects confessed to their involvement in at least 38 robberies in different parts of the city. The gangsters were caught from different areas of Rawalpindi cities.

SSP Tariq added that these gangsters did not originally belong to the area and that they had migrated to twin cities of after fleeing the Rangers operation in Karachi.
