MULTAN:
A  woman was strangled-to-death, while another was gunned down in separate incidents in Multan on Friday.

An official of Saddar police station said Gulshan Bibi, 24, a resident of Chak 42, Lodhran, married Tanveer a year back. He added the couple used to fight over domestic issues.

On Friday, both Gulshan and Tanveer got engaged in an argument, he said. In sheer frustration, the woman’s husband Tanveer and father-in-law Shafi strangled her to death and fled the scene, the official maintained.

Meanwhile, Saddar police registered an FIR against the two suspects on complaint of victim’s cousin Riaz and started investigation. No arrests have been made till filing of this report.

In another incident, police said Muhammad Khan, a resident of Basti Shaheedabad, Rajanpur, killed his wife Naseebo Mai, 33, in the name of honour.  It added Muhammad Khan opened fire on Naseebo Mai while she was sleeping and fled the scene.

Police claimed the suspect had suspicion on the character of his wife, therefore he shot her dead. Police further said the woman’s husband used to beat her on petty issues.

However, a case has been registered on the complaint of victim’s brother Aslam at Saddar police station.
