BAHAWALPUR: Bahawalpur District Coordination Officer Dr Ehtisham Anwer Mahar has banned holding of public meetings and processions without prior approval under Section 144 during Muharram. Pillion riding will be banned on 9th and 10th of Muharram.

A handout issued on Thursday by the DCO office stated the use and display of arms has been prohibited while all shops situated along the routes of processions would remain closed. Similarly, all hate material, pamphlets, banners and wall-chalking have also been banned. A ban has also been imposed on audio and video cassettes containing objectionable material.
